Dr. Robin John has graduated with a Ph.D from the Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT M), Chennai in Raman Spectroscopy of Carbon Nanomaterials under the guidance of Prof. T. Pradeep and Prof. C. Vijayan. Later he moved to the University of Greifswald, Germany at the Group of Prof. Markus Muenzenberg as a research scientist and had a productive 3 years of research there.[He has an active research collaboration with a few international research groups. ]Then he moved back to India and joined as Assistant Professor (Contract) at the St. Albert’s College Autonomous, Ernakulam.

In the year 2021 he joined the Department of Physics St. Joseph’s College Moolamattom as a permanent faculty member. Then he had a very productive year in teaching and research with obtaining a research grant from UGC DAE CSR. He was also instrumental in obtaining the IEDCentre from Kerala Start-Up mission with an annual support of 2 Lakh for innovation activities of the college and had set up a futuristic innovation club called Novation Nexus.

His Startup company named Hooba Energetics LLP had won the CleanTEch Challenge for the best innovative solutions in the area of energy and has been supported by various agencies under the Government of Kerala with a financial support of 12.5 Lakhs.

He is also the program officer of the National Service Scheme from 2022.
