GRIEVANCE REDRESSAL CELL

The Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC) of St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, Arakulam P. O., Idukki, Kerala, India, operates an open system for the prompt resolution of issues that students may infrequently submit. The GRC was established in compliance with the UGC Regulations, 2018, with the intention of addressing and successfully resolving student issues. There are essentially two levels at which the college’s GRC operates.

  1. Institutional Grievance Redressal Committee (IGRC)
  2. Department Grievance Redressal Committee (DGRC)

IGRC

Grievances unresolved at the DGRC of St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom and complaints unrelated to departments will be referred to the IGRC, which is made up of the following members:

  1. The Principal
  2. College Superintendent
  3. Senior Faculty
  4. PTA Vice President
  5. Student Representative

DGRC

The departments in question will directly handle complaints from students on academic, non-academic, personal, and similar issues that they may encounter while studying at St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, through the department’s DGRC. Any complaints regarding the overall operation of St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, or those that are not resolved at the DGRC level shall be sent right away to the IGRC. The teacher in question or any other faculty member may hear the concerns before they are sent to the DGRC, which is made up of the following members:

  1. The Head of the Department
  2. Staff Coordinator
  3. Association Secretary
  4. Senior Faculty

When deciding on grievances, the Grievance Redressal Committees of St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom adhere to the principle of impartiality and zero tolerance. They also act promptly in the best interests of the students, guaranteeing the institution’s moral and emotional support. The discretion to select their own grievance resolution process, after consulting with the IGRC, is granted to every department. Students can either drop their complaints in the Complaint Box kept in the College or file their grievances with the IGRC directly via the grievance form available in the online grievance portal on the college website. Every grievance will be handled with strict transparency. However, in order to safeguard personal integrity and the dignity of the harmed party, the GRCs guarantee secrecy, if applicable.
