The college is managed by the St. Joseph’s Province, Kottayam of the CMI Congregation. The Provincial is the Manager of the college and the Prior of the St. Joseph’s Monastery at Arakulam is the Local Manager. The general management of the college is vested in the Governing Body whose ex-officio president is the Manager. Other members are appointed by the Manager in accordance with the bye-law of the Governing Body.

St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, which started functioning in 1981 in the backward district of Idukki, has been a noble venture of the Kottayam Province of the CMI congregation in the field of higher education. As the institution is passing through the final decade of its golden jubilee, it can be said with full assurance that it has remained faithful to its vision of contributing to the nation a generation of responsible citizens with an inclusive mind who are tolerant and proud of the rich and pluralistic cultural ethos of the land. The institution has made several great strides in its ongoing march to a culture of quality and excellence, and now it stands crowned with the covetous A grade accorded to it by the prestigious national accrediting agency NAAC.
St. Joseph’s College, Moolamattom, has undergone a sea change in its four decades of dedicated service in the field of higher education. It is now blessed with almost all the state- of-the-art facilities necessary to ensure the holistic development of the students. The teachers are all dynamic and well equipped with rich research experience to be the mentors of a future generation. Steps are afoot to obtain the status of autonomy for the institution, which we hope will open up for us new vistas of growth and development.
